Scrapbook. First page bears the inscription: "Wilburt Cornell Davison from William Osler, in memory of Oxford, July 27, 1916". Material consists largely of letters from Osler and his wife, Grace, to Davison. There are also letters from Grace Osler to Davison's wife, Atala Thayer Davison. All letters are accompanied by typed transcripts laid in with originals. Newspaper clips include articles either by or relating to Osler and obituaries of Osler's and of Lady Osler's death. There is also a short manuscript by Davison, "Sir Williams Osler's story of his life."

Born in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Osler was received his medical from McGill University in 1872. He became Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine's first professor of medicine in 1889. Author of The Principles and Practices of Medicine (1892), Osler has been celled the father of psychosomatic medicine and the "most influential physician in history."
